Vuelve a casa por navidad y vuelve a llorar una y otra vez

La publicidad navideña cultiva una especial capacidad para emocionar, utilizando todos los resortes de unas fiestas que se viven a flor de piel

icen los navidólogos que la Navidad empieza con el sorteo de la Lotería de Navidad y los niños de San Ildefonso desgañitándose al cantar números que siempre tocan en Sort. Lo de Sort, no; pero lo demás es discutible. Uno diría que la Navidad empieza con los primeros anuncios de turrones. Hasta que no aparece en pantalla la primera bandeja de turrón con el arbolito al fondo, los espumillones y las bolas de navidad no se apodera de nosotros el llamado espíritu navideño. Por cierto, muy finos los publicistas: en los anuncios de esta España aconfesional aunque de moral y cultura católica cada vez salen menos belenes y más papanoeles venidos del frío nórdico. Los papanoeles son a la navidad lo que Halloween es a la fiesta de todos los santos. Anotado queda.

Hubo un tiempo en el que la familia se reunía en torno a la tele para ver los anuncios navideños. Aunque en realidad, hubo otro tiempo en el que la familia se reunía bajo el cuadro de la Santa Cena que presidía el comedor hasta que fue sustituido por una televisión de culo gordo en blanco y negro, primero; y en Full Pal color, después. Pero ese es otro tema. La publicidad turronera y la navideña en general nunca ha tenido rival levantando emociones, enervando sentimientos y sacando las lágrimas del lacrimal. Su capacidad de persuasión es tremenda. Toca la fibra sensible cuando más sensible está la fibra. Hace bien, es el oficio del publicista: vender utilizando los recursos disponibles, contando una historia que emocione dejando a la marca en una posición perfecta de prestigio y sensibilidad social. Lo que viene siendo lograr que la gente quiera comer turrón porque se va a sentir mejor persona, va a reencontrarse con los suyos y le va a invadir el fraternal espíritu de la fraternidad navideña.

La publicidad en la  España de los cincuenta y buena parte de los sesenta tiró de todos los tópicos del typycal Spain. Grandes monumentos, sol, flamenco, toros y playas. Una renuncia a una España de futuro, nada de pisar el área de la modernidad. Santiago y cierra España: las cajas de polvorones se ilustraban con El Escorial, con toreros en plena faena, con un picador encelado con el toro, corridas goyescas, falleras y guitarristas flamencos con sombrero de ala ancha a la sombra de la Giralda. Ya a finales de los setenta buena parte de la inversión publicitaria en los periódicos se desvía hacia la televisión, lo que genera mayor inversión en creatividad. En los ochenta y los noventa se desborda la creatividad. España se convierte en una potencia publicitaria y se acuñan varios originales irrepetibles.

Esta Navidad de 2022 dos anuncios, como dicen los chavales, lo están petando. Uno apuesta por la sensibilidad clásica -la muerte de la esposa/madre/abuela- y el otro pone todas las fichas en la casilla de la sensibilidad LGTBI y en la estrategia de un abuelo para que la familia acepte a la nieta transexual. El primero es de turrones Suchard. El segundo es de un wkisky, J&B, que aunque se sale del canon, su apuesta es reseñable y está proporcionando mucho ruido -mayoritariamente muy positivo- para la firma con el She de Elvis Costello partiendo almas y removiendo conciencias. Porque el territorio de las emociones a flor de piel, que fue casi exclusivo de los productos navideños, y eso incluye el freixenetazo anual con una sobredosis de cava y oro, ha ido siendo colonizado poco a poco por otros actores: la Lotería nacional, singularmente; marcas como Campofrío, con una apuesta inteligente por el humor o por los grandes almacenes.

Aquí va una selección de diez anuncios (y un estrambote) de todos los tiempos, películas breves que han marcado una época. Añada los suyos. Cuestión de gustos, pero siempre con emoción y alegría navideña. Arriba los corazones publicitarios.

-1- Vuelve a casa

Es un hit para toda a una generación. Los hijos regresan a casa a pasar la navidad. Impresionante catarata de melancolía navideña asociada al turrón El almendro. Regresaban al pueblo de vacas y campanario los chicos que se habían marchado a la gran ciudad, el marinero y el militar. La música de la navidad. El vuelve a casa hizo suerte. La canción la interpretaba Maisa Hens, cuya hermana era miembro de Objetivo Birmania y su hermano tocaba la batería en Los elegantes, grupos señeros de la Movida. Si usted no ha visto ese anuncio no sabe qué es la navidad. Así de sencillo.

 

-2- Al mundo entero: buenismo con chispa

Coca-Cola y su chispa de la vida colocaron en las televisiones de todo el mundo en 1972 un pepino publicitario que decía “al mundo entero quiero dar un mensaje de paz”. Y no venía mal, en plena guerra fría y con Nixon visitando China. El buenismo de Coca-cola se proyectó como banda sonora universal. En 2017 hubo un remake a la española con Aitana, Ana Guerra, Agoney, Lola índigo, Raúl y Maikel Delacalle. Lo bueno estira mucho.

-3- El calvo es el calvo

El actor británico Clive Arrindell, aunque seguramente el hombre tendría un prestigio en su país, quedó convertido para siempre en España en el calvo de la Lotería, con un aire del argentino Dertycia, que jugó en el Cádiz. Es uno de los anuncios más populares de su década. Siete años estuvo en danza: entre 1998 y 2005, hasta que Lotería Nacional tiró por otros derroteros. Gran impacto el del calvo. Tanto que en su día se dijo que lo retiraron de la carrera porque su popularidad se comía al producto.

-4- “Hola soy Edu, feliz navidad”.

El pequeño Edu felicitando la navidad con un teléfono de Airtel a todos los contactos de su padres es ya un clásico imperecedero. Ahora parece una broma, pero en 1999 no se podrían grabar los contactos en ningún sitio: veníamos del teléfono de cable de canutillo. El claim se repitió hasta la saciedad. Aunque la campaña acabó mal porque prometía tres meses de llamadas gratis que en realidad eran 30 minutos al mes. Pero la película forma parte ya de la historia de la publicidad española.

-5- Las muñecas más famosas y ese villancico…

Juguetes Onil, en Alicante, encargó en 1972 un anuncio que incluyera poco menos que todos sus muñecos camino del portal de Belén. Y surgió el villancico más atemporal y cantado de todos los tiempos, con letra de Luis Figuerola-Ferreti y música de Jaime Pérez. Onil venía de fabricar muñecas de barro hasta que irrumpió el plástico. Entonces forjó un acuerdo con otros jugueteros y alumbraron éxitos como Nancy, Barriguitas, Nenuco o los Micromachines. Con el anuncio en blanco y negro de 1972 debieron de hincharse de vender muñecas.

-6- Nieva en La Habana

El viaje trasatlántico de una bola de Nieve desde Madrid a La Habana le sirvió a Iberia para que su anuncio fuera reconocido cono el más emotivo del año. La nieta le lleva al abuelo una bola de una nevada del frío Madrid hasta su hamaca habanera. Sencillo, tierno y eficaz. Conectando mundos, conectando a la gente.

-7- Homenaje a Gila

Alex de la Iglesia concentró en 2011 a un grupo amplio y representativo de cómicos españoles para rodar este anuncio delante de la tumba de Gila. Era 2011 y Campofrío apelaba al deseo de que nadie nos impidiera vivir como somos. Santiago Segura, Pajares y Esteso, los Morancos, Cruz y raya, Chiquito de la Calzada y suma y sigue incluyendo parejas con cierto aroma de reencuentro, como Martes y 13, pusieron rostro a un antológico anuncio, melancólico y optimista a la vez, con el maestro Gila en el papel estelar al teléfono pidiéndole al enemigo que mejor avanzara por la tarde que por la mañana estaban durmiendo. Antológico.

-8- El lobo, qué gran anuncio

Dibujos animados aun con poca definición y movimientos muy limitaditos. Muy antigüito. Pero con una canción interpretada por Ray L. Falcón que incorporaba un estribillo super pegadizo. Falcón pondría voz a otros anuncios muy populares: el anuncio arrasó. El Lobo es una empresa que hunde sus raíces en la mitad del siglo XVIII y que siempre estuvo en el top gracias, entre otras cosas, a un anuncio con tanto impacto y una cancioncilla que se metía entre oreja y oreja y ya no salía de ahí.

-9- Burbuja y oro

Como el Estado de las autonomías, pero en burbujas doradas. Así es este anuncio de Freixenet: hollywoodense, dorado y sinfónico. En 2000 lo protagonizó la selección de gimnasia rítmica y la orquesta la dirigía Lorin Maazel, el director francés. En años anteriores figuras como Lizza Minnelli, Michel Jenner, Paul Newman o Ricardo Darín habían puesto su talento en pantalla rodeado de burbujas doradas y cava. Un clásico indiscutible.

 

-10- No quiero verte más, quiero verte mejor

La fuerza de una frase. La navidad como palanca de los nuevos propósitos y la necesidad del reencuentro en la pareja y este anunciaco que le salió a Rúa Vieja con la canción “No quiero verte más” de Pablo Cebrián y Patty Latherow. Potente y comko la vida misma.

Estrambote: Ruiz Mateos, la Presyler y Boyer. “Toma un bombón Isabel…”

Y para terminar algo grotesco. Muuuuy grotesco. Ruiz Mateos, que por aquel entonces había comprado bombones Trapa, que también acabó salpicada en uno de sus mil líos, utilizó su agresión a Miguel Boyer, exministro de Economía con Felipe González, a cuenta del caso Rumasa, para vender sus bombones por Navidad. Ahí lo tienen: una actriz, trasunto de la Preysler, y todos los sobreentendidos o supraentendidos posibles.
